Video Otoscopy
Video Otoscopy is a test that involves taking video and still pictures of the ear canal and the ear drum.
The purpose of this is to enhance proper diagnosis of ear diseases. At the same time it enables us to document the clinical condition of the ear and further enhances our explanations of the condition to the patient.
A special video otoscopy camera is inserted into the patient’s ear. Images of the ear canal and the ear drum are seen on a computer screen. The important images are recorded and stored.
The procedure is painless, but requires the patient to be calm and allow the ears to be examined. The results are obtained within half an hour and are interpreted by the doctor.
